The LEX755 has been purpose-built and optimised for first responders and reinforced to meet mission-critical requirements.
Using the advanced Security Enhanced (SE) version of the Android operating system, the mission-critical handheld provides users with a secure, robust and flexible platform for multimedia-rich applications and can be equipped with applications such as unified push-to-talk, real-time video intelligence, and electronic forms for query and incident monitoring.
The application ecosystem includes real-time video streaming, computer aided dispatch, unified push-to-talk, electronic citation, report writing and data capture.
According to Motorola, the new device has been built for the street, providing street-ready data even under extreme conditions.
The mission-critical LTE handheld has also been ergonomically optimised for faster, tactile, one-handed operation via dedicated controls.
The device’s connectivity has been described by Motorola as ‘unmatched’, with support for 4G LTE bands 3, 7 and 20, 3G UMTS/HSPA+ bands 1 and 8, quad band GSM, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
The LEX755 complies with highest security standards including security enhanced Android and the FIPS-140-2 Level 3 certified microSD hardware security model CRYPTR micro for certificate and key storage to provide tamper resistant protection for authentication and encryption keys.
Paul Steinberg, senior vice president and CTO, Motorola Solutions, commented: “With our new LEX755 LTE handheld, we provide public sector users with the intelligence to be safer, better informed and more efficient. The LEX755 offers unique government-grade security and is easy to deploy and manage. It is an ideal complement of our industry-leading TETRA two-way digital radio portfolio.”
